Forwarding messages

You may receive information from one person that you’d like to pass on to another. Rather than retype or copy and paste the information, you can forward the portion of the conversation that has the information to someone else. To forward a message, follow these steps:

1. Choose the message you want to forward from the Messages list.

If the message is part of a conversation, open the conversation by tapping the message from the list.

2. Tap the Edit button and transparent circles appear next to the message or messages that make up the conversation.

3. Tap the circle next to the message(s) you want to forward.

The red circle with the white checkmark appears.

4. Tap the Forward button in the bottom right corner.

A New Message screen opens with the message you wish to forward in the text box.

5. Insert a phone number or a name from Contacts in the To field and tap the plus sign (+) button if you want to add additional recipients.

6. Tap Send when you’re ready to send the message.

The Sending progress bar opens at the top of the page. If you chose a sound in Sound settings for Sent Mail, you hear whatever sound you chose when the message has been sent.

You can search for text within messages in the Messages list by using the Search box at the very top of the list. Just type the specific word or phrase you’re searching for and tap the magnifying glass.
